    The band sets the price, not the colour. Each upholstery option covers one or two Arketipo price categories and is priced at the higher of the two. Once you order, we'll go through Arketipo's fabrics and leathers in your band with you and confirm your exact choice before production starts. If you choose one from the lower-priced category, we refund the difference. Pelle B and Pelle Leonardo leathers are available on request.

    About the design

    When people ask about statement pieces, subtlety is rarely ever discussed, and yet Atlas is perhaps one of the grand expressions of form and style. Atlas aims to solve one of the biggest design questions in furniture, how does one get freedom without compromise? The answer lies in this design, an abundance of isometric shapes softened with different forms gets to the core principle, but Atlas is more. It’s about bringing together different ideas, ones that capture a space and multiple iterations. Structure is a complex mix of thin, large, high and low arms, back cushions, corner units, chaise-lounges and accessories that blend together to create a cosmopolitan design structure, responding to an ever intricate design brief of modern living.

    Materials & specification

    • Structure: wood.
    • Structure upholstery: expanded polyurethane of varied densities (D30N + T40P + Ecoelast 30 + PS21SM), covered with 100% cotton lining, wadding 380gr.
    • Seat cushion upholstery: expanded polyurethane of varied densities (T35 + T40 + Ecolympha + Ecoelast 30SM), covered with synthetic lining Tecnoform 280 bonded with cotton lining.
    • Back cushion upholstery: outer cover in 100% downproof cotton and resin lining; filling in mixed feathers (70% goose feathers and 30% polyester fibre).
    • Springing: elastic belts.
    • Back support: metal structure with elastic belts, covered with coupled synthetic lining 6mm.
    • Seat height: 41 cm
    • Arm height: 53 cm (LARGE) 47 cm (SLIM).
    • Feet: metal, finishes black nickel or varnished micaceous brown or oxy grey, h.5 cm.
    • Piping: available in the colours of the zip samples. The back support is optional and can be used only with the back cushion Atlas with piping.
    • Upholstery: Fabric: categories A, B/C, D, E, Extra and Top. Leather: Pelle First, Plus and A (Pelle B on request). Each option covers a band of price categories and is priced at the highest category in the band; if you choose a fabric or leather from a lower-priced category, we refund the difference.

    Delivery & returns

    Made to order. Each Arketipo piece is made in Florence to your chosen configuration and upholstery. Delivery is approximately 7 weeks from order confirmation. Our team will contact you to arrange a date.

    UK mainland delivery only.

    Cancellations and returns. Because made-to-order pieces are made to your specification, orders cannot be cancelled or returned once production has started, unless faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights.

    Arketipo is a Florentine workshop that brings artisan tailoring to contemporary upholstery. Sofas, armchairs and beds are made to order in Florence, with details such as double-faced cushions, zips and raw-cut leather edges finished by hand.

    Working with designers including Mauro Lipparini, Arketipo pieces are built to be configured: choose the model, size and upholstery that suit your room, and each one is made for you.
