About the design

Bringing the indoors to the outside is always filled with compromise. For many design takes a second place to comfort, for others it is vice versa. For Gino Carollo, compromise was never going to be an option. The outdoor should always have as much style and comfort as anything we produce for living indoor. Inspired by a bond with nature, Santos uses strong geometric lines to interweave and overlap to create a dynamic form. Using solid materials, treated to be protected all year round, function is a priority but never overshadows the strong design which bridges the desire between indoor and outdoor living. Just one look at this design and you’d be mistaken for a piece of furniture that would be welcome in any interior living space. That’s the point though, right? Why should the outdoor feel less enjoyable when in reality, it’s anything but the case.

Materials & specification

• Structure: solid iroko wood with water-repellent vegetable oils finish.
• Springing: zinc-coated metal slats, epoxy powder coating, colours brown and green.
• Seat upholstery: multi-density expanded polyurethane (D35SR.ve. + memory MFC35). Inner cover in waterproof polyester coupled with resin lining 200gr, which improves protection from water and moisture.
• Back upholstery: multi-density expanded polyurethane (D35SR.ve. + memory MFC35). Inner cover in waterproof polyester coupled with resin lining 200gr, which improves protection from water and moisture. Backs have a weighted insert to increase stability.
• Back cushion: polyester fibre covered with waterproof fabric and breathable lining.
• Seat height: 39 cm.
• Coffe table: solid iroko wood with water-repellent vegetable oils finish.
• Note: the upholstery cannot be exposed to constant and heavy rains. We suggest using our protective covers made of breathable and waterproof polyester marine canvas, ideal to prevent mould formation. They can be washed with neutral detergent, Please do not fold wet covers and store them only when dry. To ensure the durability and protection of iroko wood parts, periodic maintenance is required using specific products for outdoor wood. Before carrying out maintenance, it is recommended to remove or protect the upholstered parts.

Made to order. Each Arketipo piece is made in Florence to your chosen configuration and upholstery. Delivery is approximately 7 weeks from order confirmation. Our team will contact you to arrange a date.

Cancellations and returns. Because made-to-order pieces are made to your specification, orders cannot be cancelled or returned once production has started, unless faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights.
