    The band sets the price, not the colour. Each upholstery option covers one or two Arketipo price categories and is priced at the higher of the two. Once you order, we'll go through Arketipo's fabrics and leathers in your band with you and confirm your exact choice before production starts. If you choose one from the lower-priced category, we refund the difference. Pelle B and Pelle Leonardo leathers are available on request.

    About the design

    We’d be lost without our backpacks wouldn’t we? They carry our lives through the objects we love and give us flashbacks to times in school where life felt so much easier. The older we get we use them to travel and to experience new adventures, our love for the backpack is thus universal for so many reasons. It was those memories and all the things that we throw into our backpacks (physical and metaphorical) that made us think, why can’t we base a design on those very ideas? We created a sofa that is not only functional but looks like the most inviting place to sit for hours and to relax. Back Pack takes the idea of what is comfortable to us for so many reasons and brings it to a whole new context.

    • STRUCTURE (seats and backs): wood.
    • Seat upholstery: multi-density expanded polyurethane foam (D30+Memory foam) covered with synthetic lining 230gr.
    • Back upholstery: multi-density expanded polyurethane foam (D30+D25) covered with synthetic lining 230gr.
    • Backrest roll upholstery: expanded polyurethane covered with coupled synthetic lining 180gr. BACK CUSHION 65 x 55 cm UPHOLSTERY: outer side in downproof 100% Gabardine 30/20 cotton cover; filling in goose feathers and polyester fibres. BACK CUSHION 65 x 57 cm UPHOLSTERY: outer side in downproof 100% Gabardine 30/20 cotton cover; filling in 100% goose feathers, inner core in expanded polyurethane (T18S).

    Made to order. Each Arketipo piece is made in Florence to your chosen configuration and upholstery. Delivery is approximately 7 weeks from order confirmation. Our team will contact you to arrange a date.

    Cancellations and returns. Because made-to-order pieces are made to your specification, orders cannot be cancelled or returned once production has started, unless faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights.

    Arketipo is a Florentine workshop that brings artisan tailoring to contemporary upholstery. Sofas, armchairs and beds are made to order in Florence, with details such as double-faced cushions, zips and raw-cut leather edges finished by hand.

    Working with designers including Mauro Lipparini, Arketipo pieces are built to be configured: choose the model, size and upholstery that suit your room, and each one is made for you.
